Eating Chocolate - Good or Bad for Health?

SUMMARY 

Everyone loves chocolate, old and young, including me. Varying shape and taste the sweet cause everybody loves this food. However, chocolate has a negative impact to health if eat too much chocolate and also depending on the type of chocolate eaten. In addition to having the negative side, chocolate also has a positive side benefit the body.

Dark chocolate is the original form of chocolate because it tastes bitter, it takes the process to make it sweet. Positive side of dark chocolate lower cholesterol levels are associated with the circulatory system by lowering blood pressure, dilate blood vessels are narrowed or clogged by fat. In addition, dark chocolate also contains antioxidants that can neutralize the body from free radicals.

Because dark chocolate contains 210 calories, 13 grams of fat and 8 grams of unsaturated fats include it, the negative side of eating chocolate in large numbers is that we are overweight or obesity and other diseases such as heart attack suddenly, diatebes until a stroke.

And because chocolate contains abundant calories, vitamins A, B1, D and E and minerals that are good for growth and body functions, so for people with some diseases, chocolate is very good and quick to help the healing of the body. However, choose low-sugar chocolate, low fat and do not over-eat.

According to research conducted at the hospital the University of Cologne in Germany, showed that, low fat cocoa powder with a small amount can reduce the level of systolic and diastolic blood pressure, because chocolate contains antioxidants. Furthermore, based on research conducted in the Netherlands, showed that the risk of death of patients with heart disease will decrease if the amount of cocoa in the diet increased.

Cocoa is rich in antioxidants (prolifenol and flavonoids), but cocoa containing sugar, high calories and fat. therefore, if consumed in excess will also be a risk of increased blood pressure.

Besides chocolate, milk products, vegetables, fruits, grains, fish and nuts are the foods that are beneficial to increase blood pressure. Not just keep eating, but also an important exercise to burn calories and avoid the drinking and smoking.

Critical Analysis :

I think this article should be added to the history of chocolate, the kinds of chocolate, the chemicals contained therein and why chocolate make me feel happy after eating?

1.   Chocolate is the name of the food that is processed from cocoa beans (Theobroma cacao). Cocoa plant originally grown in the northern Amazon region to Central America, the first civilization of Mayan, Toltec and Aztecs who inhabited the meso-american use of cocoa as a beverage that sprinkled red pepper, vanilla or spice. Then the Spanish who colonized the area throughout the century to introduce chocolate and chocolate spread into part of the world.

2.   Kinds of chocolate are dark chocolate, white chocolate and milk chocolate
a.  Dark chocolate contain cocoa beans (cocoa), the highest of at least 70% containing cocoa. Dark chocolate contains cocoa or chocolate beans ever, without a lot of sugar and no trans fats or hydrogenated vegetable oil.
b.    White chocolate, while white chocolate has only 33 % content of chocolate or cocoa, the rest is sugar, milk and vanilla. The content of this sugar which can give negative effects, such as tooth decay and diabetes
c.    Milk chocolate is a mixture of cocoa with milk and sugar added.this type of chocolate is also very popular because it taste delicious. 

3.   Happy feelings arising after eating chocolate because chocolate contains substances that allow the chemical reaction occurs in the brain that stimulates serotonin active and trigger a feeling of comfort. In addition, most substances contained in chocolate is theobrimine which can stimulate nerves and heart tissues that makes us excited. Furthermore,the existence of a functioning phenylethylamine produce dopamine, which causes a sense of joy, increase the sense attracted to the opposite sex and lead to feeling of love

4.   because chocolate is rich in the antioxidant content of phenols and flavonoids. With the presence of antioxidants, will be able to capture free radicals in the body. Phenols and flavonoids, an antioxidant capable of reducing cholesterol in the blood so it can reduce your risk of heart attack are also useful to prevent cancer in the body, preventing the occurrence of stroke and high blood.in addition, the fat content in chocolate high quality proven cholesterol free and does not clog arteries

5.   Other chocolate products are also dangerous and bad for health, especially in the form of fondant (usually used to decorate cakes) and praline. Fondant actually contains 100% sweetener and also as bad praline.
